Batata Vada Recipe Instructions
Step 1
* Take a pan
* Add 1 tsp oil
* 1 dry red chilli
* Pinch of wray
* Add 1/2 tsp urad dal
* Add 1 tbsp of garlic + ginger + green chilli
* Add 1 tsp turmeric powder
* Add 1 tsp coriander powder
* Pinch of asafoetida
* Few curry leaves
* Sauté the paste for a minute
* Take 3 mash potatoes in a bowl
* Pour the sauté mixture on top of these mashed potatoes.
* Remove the red chiili pieces
* Sprinkle some coriander leaves.
* Add few drips of lemon juice
* Mix it well & make medium size round balls
* Keep this on the side
* Add 1 tsp oil
* 1 dry red chilli

* Add 1 tsp turmeric powder
* Add 1 tsp coriander powder
* Pinch of asafoetida
* Few curry leaves
* Sauté the paste for a minute

* Remove the red chiili pieces
* Sprinkle some coriander leaves.
* Add few drips of lemon juice
* Mix it well & make medium size round balls
* Keep this on the side
Step 2
* Take another bowl
* Add 1 ¼ cup gram flour
* Add salt to taste
* Pinch of sugar
* 1 tsp red chiili powder
* 1/2 tsp baking soda
* 1 tsp oil
* Pinch of asafoetida
* Add water in parts & mix consistently to form a medium thick batter
* Add ½ lemon juice in this batter & mix it well ( no lumps )
Step 3
* Dip each vada in this besan batter & gently place it in oil to deep fry
* Turn the vadas a couple of times till they are light golden brown
* Remove with a slotted spoon.
* Use a tissue to remove excessive oil ( If any )
* Your Batata Vada is ready to serve.
