Creamy & Restaurant Style Dal Makhani
Dal Makhani is a popular indian dish made with black lentils, rajma beans, butter, cream & indian spices.
Dal Makhani is usually served with Garlic Naan, Tandoori Roti or Jeera Rice

Dal Makhani Recipe Ingredients
- 200 gms Whole Black Lentils / Urad Dal
- 50 gms Red Kidney Beans / Rajma - Optional
- Soak in 500 ml water
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1/2 Tbsp Salt
- 1 Tbsp Oil
- 4 whistles in a Pressure cooker
- 1 Tbsp Ghee
- 2 Red Chilli Dry
- 1 pinch Cumin
- 1 pinch Asafoetida
- 1 inch Ginger, chopped
- 2 dry Green Chilli
- 2 Small Onions, finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 Tbsp Red chilli powder
- 1/2 Tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt to Taste
- 2 Tomatoes , chopped
- 1/2 Tsp Garam Masala
- 1 Tbsp Full Cream
- 1 Tbsp Makkhan ( Desi butter )
Please Note : -
- Soak Lentils & Rajma overnight or atleast for 8 hours before starting the recipe
- Red Kidney beans ( Rajma ) are optional if you dont wish to add
- Spice portions can be modified as per your taste preference
- I've used homemade full cream but you can use light cream as well
- Please cook this recipe slowly & let it simmer on low heat
- Use a generous amount of butter & cream to enjoy this recipe thoroughly
